Guess I should post something besides Warhammer 40K, since I started this blog for my writing.

Progress is going surely forward on the book, so to bide the time, I present this inane and out of context dialogue section:

“We have entered a foreign land,” I explained. “Well, I have,” I added, remembering that Akio was from San Francisco and visited family annually up north in Sendai, “and what does one do when they have entered a foreign land?”

“Adapt to the local culture,” Akio said, taking the impromptu lecture in stride; he had been a student of mine for over four years, after all.

Smiling, I nodded and exclaimed, “Exactly!  So, how best should we do that?”

Akio sighed, “We are not going to a maid café five minutes after getting here, Doc.”

“Going to Japan and not visiting a maid café is like going to Paris and not visiting the Louvre!” I retorted.  I exhaled once to calm down before adding, “And that’s not what I meant.”

“Oh,” realization dawned on the young man, “you meant get a drink.”
